When you need it
- Firefighting water has soaked floors, walls or insulation
- Water damage from a leak, burst pipe or flood
- Before a contractor closes walls or lays new flooring
Why it matters
Mould behind new surfaces
Closing a wall or laying a floor over a structure that is still wet is the classic route to mould and odour a few months later.
Winter changes the physics
Condensing dehumidifiers lose much of their capacity in cold rooms. In the Nordic winter we combine heating with desiccant drying.
Proof matters
A daily drying log shows the insurer and the next contractor exactly when the structure reached safe values.
Our procedure
Map the moisture
Baseline readings at fixed, photographed measuring points and thermal imaging of walls and floors.
Remove what cannot dry
Soaked insulation, saturated boards and materials that would rot or grow mould are taken out.
Open cavities
Skirting boards, panels or drilled holes let air reach insulation and structure.
Size the equipment
Condensing or desiccant dehumidifiers, air movers and heat, matched to the room, the material and the season.
Log every day
Temperature, relative humidity and material moisture at the same points every day.
Verify before closing
Materials must reach the target values set by the material and flooring manufacturers. Concrete is measured with RH probes.
Hand over
The complete drying log goes to the client, the insurer and the next contractor.
What a drying log looks like
Illustration of a daily drying log. Real logs use your measuring points and the target values for your materials.
Equipment
- Pin and pinless moisture meters
- RH probes for concrete
- Thermo-hygrometers and data logging
- Condensing and desiccant dehumidifiers
- Air movers and heaters
- Thermal camera
What you receive
- Moisture map with measuring points
- Daily drying log
- Final readings and sign-off for closing

Questions
How long does drying take?
It depends on the material, the amount of water and the season. Concrete can take weeks; lightweight structures often days. The daily log shows the progress.
Can we just open the windows?
In the Estonian autumn and winter, outdoor air often carries more moisture into the building than it removes. Controlled drying is faster and measurable.
Do you leave the equipment running unattended?
Yes, with safe placement and regular checks. Every visit is logged.
